Managing your Data

As of May 25, 2018 - Lambda Learning Space has the option for you to export a Report that gives you an overview of your data in the system.


What kind of data am I able to export?

In Learning Space, we allow you to export all of your learning data, including completions, grades, feedback responses, and activity data (like completion dates, and attempts).

This kind of data is stored in a JSON file, which you can use to either view as raw data, or query it, using NoSQL. 

What do I need to do to export it?

By going to your profile, you will see the Administration area, where you can view things like your Preferences, Site Policy consents, and a line item called "Request Data Export".

By clicking this, you will then be prompted to choose an "Export Type". Select "Standard User" and then click "Request data export".

The system will then take some time to generate a Report for you, containing all the available data related to you as a learner. You will be notified via email that the export has been completed. 

Once you receive this notification, you can return to your profile in Learning Space and click "Request Data Export", where you can download the .tgz file (another form of ZIP) and access your JSON files.

What can I do with this information?

With this data, you can look through the records, and logs, of your activity within Learning Space. If you have familiarity with NoSQL, you can query through all the available data.

Alternatively, you can audit the data - such as grades, and completion dates - and if something is askew, you can request a rectification to your records.
